As promised, here are the pajama socks:
While in Alexandria in March for Maggie's birthday, Alicia and I went down to Knit Happens. She wanted a pair of socks that she could wear with a pair of pajamas that she has. She knew the color she wanted and couldn't find it in sock yarn. She did, however, find it in the Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino. I had to do some tweeking to get the pattern worked out, but after several trials with different needles and cast on stitches I came up with US#2 double points and cast on of 48 stitches (12 on each needle). I did a basic sock pattern of k2p1 rib for 10 rows and then plain stockinette and a slip stitch heel. They are really too thick to wear in shoes, but are perfect for lounging around the house.
On my recent trip to Alexandria for John's birthday and my meet-up with Wendy, I returned to Knit Happens and bought some yarn for a little sweater that I saw in Miss Bea's Seaside. The pattern is called "Tide Cardigan" and I bought some Debbie Bliss Prima in a pretty pink:
I also picked up some Classic Elite Flash Bee Balm to make another sweater for Maggie. Seems like pink and green is the theme around here lately ;) I'm planning on a top-down raglan for this.
You know me, I couldn't leave a knitting shop without some blue sock yarn. Here is Neighborhood Studio Sock in the color Washington Circle (Wendy got some of this color--among others---as well). Isn't it pretty?
That's it for my latest acquisitions. Now on to bed to doctor this old cold. Maggie's better by the way. Her temp is gone. Now "Little" John is running one.
Those socks look very nice. I love the Tide cardigan and my daughter still wears hers, although it is getting a bit shorter now. Yours looks lovely in the pink.
