It's a toss up as to whether I pick up the knitting needles or work with fabric and the sewing machine. So, what I do is knit in the morning while I'm waiting for the computer to turn on, do some sewing the rest of the day, then after dinner--do some more knitting.
Here is what I have been working on for the last week:
I feel so good about these. I used stash material for the shorts and bought the plain T-shirts at Walmart for $3.99 and put the appliques on them. This was my first try making appliques. What fun I had!!!!!! The shorts are just a basic short pattern with elastic waist. I have a couple more sets to make, but first I have to shorten the sleeves on some shirts for John. That's a whole 'nother story----why is it that I can buy a dress shirt for him with a 33" sleeve but a sport shirt in the same neck size as the dress shirt is a 36" sleeve. I have to cut off 3", take the placket out and move it up. To have someone do it for me would be $20 per sleeve-----I'd rather spend my money on----------yarn!!!!!!!!
I'm off to do a little knitting before bed.
OH! They are Too Cute! Now I wish Davis was younger again!!! So adorable.
