Here is the carousel horse that we are currently working on. The brass pole that he is on is the one we are going to use. It has to be cut to size and polished. We also have to find a cover for the bottom of the pole to hide the "workings". I took this this morning before I got started with more painting. I got quite a bit done today-----the hooves, horse shoes, the mouth, nose, additional coats of paint on the saddle, and other trappings. It was a very productive day.
That said, here is the other horse that John is doing. I've showed you this before. He has been having instructions with this one. Can't you tell a big difference a little help and experience makes. It's also a much larger horse. "Little" John loves to come up to the barn when he is here and take a ride on the horse. He knows where to find it too. We are going to take it with us up to Chicago when I go up for Stitches in a couple of weeks. John wants to drop by Mansfield, OH and have Walt (his instructor) help him with the saddle. He doesn't have a whole lot left to do on this one as far as the carving. Next step will be to glue it all together.
Now it's time for me to knit for a little while before bedtime! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

What a wonderful job John has done on his horse and all of the painting you have done too. You both are very talented!
