I'm a Wendy Knits Junior Stalker and it is official, see:
Sorry for the poor photo, but my battery was on it's last leg. Just in case you can't tell from the photo, this is a pin with a photo of Lucy (look at those eyes) that Wendy gave me when I met her at Knit Happens in Old Towne Alexandria, Va on Sunday afternoon. What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. We went to lunch at a near-by restaurant and then went back to Knit Happens and hung out with the ladies who work there. We talked, knit, and talked some more. Wendy showed me her newest design, "Ninja"---hmmmm gorgeous (both yarn and pattern)---what a chart---she is so talented. We both bought more yarn that we didn't need; but, hey---that's what you do in a yarn shop with so much "eye candy", isn't it. Before leaving, Wendy let me snap this quick photo of her:
Thank you, Wendy, for a wonderful afternoon!!!!
Now, the reason I was in Alexandria in the first place is that "Little" John had his 3rd birthday party this weekend. He celebrated it early (by one week---his birthday is the 24th of May) because his daddy was going to be out of town on the real day. He had so much fun and was so excited about all his birthday presents. The theme for his party was "space ships". He had a cake with stars, moons, and space ships:
He blew out the candles:
and it didn't take him long to dig in:
He opened his presents:
and played with them with his other grandma, his cousin, and Maggie:
It was at this point Ryan popped up and said "Are they dressed alike?" (speaking of Maggie and John). Why yes, in fact they were. Maggie had on a cute little madras print sun dress:
and John was wearing a navy blue polo shirt and madras print shorts. Here he is modeling his new bicycle helmet:
It was a fun weekend for everyone!
Tomorrow, I'll show you the yarn I bought and the pair of "pajama" socks I made for Alicia. She wanted a pair of socks to wear with a pair of her pajamas. The only yarn we could find back in March that she liked the color of was a Debbie Bliss Cashmerino. I'll tell you all about them tomorrow. Time for bed. Long day of driving today---plus I picked up the cold last night that was being passed around the household--you know, stuffy nose, sore throat, cough-----Alicia had to take Maggie in to the doctor Sunday morning because she was running a fever of 103.9 or something like that. She has a cold with double ear infections. She's not a happy camper right now---especially when it's time for the medicine.

I hope you and Maggie get better soon! I hate it when they have those high fevers. It's just pitiful.
Looking forward to seeing the pajama socks! =0)

Well I wasnt at the great party, but I got the cold too. THankfully it is a fast one. I LOVE the rocket ship theme He is so adorable. and I love that they wore matching clothes. My allison always wanted to match her little brother Zach. IT was hard to do. THat gives me a great idea, I can match them now, grown up, with Cubs shirts!
