Rip-it, Rip-it.........
I was so excited about knitting up the Cherry Blossom sweater for Maggie. Unfortunately, it is being ripped off the needles. For me, the yarn was just not working out to what I had expected. I was looking for a pink and green; but, when I started knitting into the skein, up popped brown and lilac as well. It may work fine on a pair of socks, but on this little sweater it was just not working for me. See what I mean:

I'm just not going to spend the amount of time it would take to knit this little sweater if I don't like the yarn in the first place. I also don't think Alicia would like it.
Maybe someone else out there would like to try it. If you're interested, leave a comment and I'll have a drawing. I have two skeins fingering weight/400 yard skeins---one wound in a ball and the other not touched. I'm interested!

Ouch. I'm so proud of you to have made that decision. I have to admit that I agree with you. Some yarns just don't work for projects other than their intended dye-intended purpose. Too bad - it sounded like an idyllic name of yarn for a little girl's sweater. Boohoo.

I agree, while it is a beautiful yarn, in a sweater it wasn't making me fall in love with it either. Just not sweater material! I do have something in mind if I am the lucky winner.

Oh my- they would make a lovely pair of socks and they happen to be in some of my favorite colors. I think that yarn would be very happy on my DPN's.

Destashing this so quickly? I understand...when something doesn't work it doesn't work. I'm crossing my fingers it comes my way--I tried to get a skein from RCY, but they were sold out! Thanks!

Mmm. I have a sock yarn called Apple Blossom that's a sweet soft pink with bits of green and yellow in it. Maybe you'd like it better? :)

it's amazing how a contest for yarn will bring me out of the woodwork. All in all this is a lesson for me and a reminder that it can look like one thing in a hank, another knit up!

You are right. That yarn just doesn't work for a little girls sweater.
