One down, one to go.......
I finished up one of my Special May Day Swap socks this afternoon. Now I'll have another month to get the other one finished. As I said before, this sock is knit using Wendy's Double Eyelet Rib pattern. I love this pattern and thought my swap pal might like it as well. Feels good to get one done. I've never knit for another knitter before and I find it a little intimidating. Of course all I can think about is knitting a perfect sock---is there such a thing? Pressure, pressure, pressure! But, I'm having fun!
I got a fantastic Special Spa Swap package delivered to my house by UPS on Thursday afternoon. Stacey was my special pal and she really came up with a wonderful tote full of goodies. Just take a look at this:
Stacey filled a plastic woven tote full of goodies. To start off, she wrote a very sweet note on a knitting note card that had a pattern for a child's hat. How great is that! One of her favorite children's knitting books is "Itty Bitty Nursery" by Susan B. Anderson. There is the cutest knitted tea set in there that would be perfect for Maggie.
What's a knitting swap without beautiful yarn, and Stacey came up with some beauties (I haven't knit with either one, so I'm anxious to try them out). The first is Red Rocks Fiber Works in the colorway "Roxy". Stacey said this yarn is dyed locally in Colorado.
and Dream in Color Baby Laceweight in a lovely blue:
Other knitting related things were some adorable sheep stitch markers, a little accessory bag, and a 32" Skacel addi turbo lace US#2 circular needle. I don't have one of these needles, so I'm very excited about Stacey sending me one. Take a look at the hat in the below photo. That's the note card that I mentioned before.
Then, for a little pampering, there was a manicure set, a pedicure brush, and some very special soap. She added two packets of "Soak" for fine washables as well.
Who coould not have a soothing hot cup of tea or hot chocolate in this very special mug (the leaf motifs on the cup look like rows of knitted stitches to me):
Finally, look at this pair of socks. Aren't they cute! I love them!!
Oh, I almost forgot. Stacey also sent a bar of dark chocolate raspberry candy. Guess what? It didn't make it to the camera. "Big" John, "Little" John, and Alicia ate the whole thing before I could even take a picture.
Now wasn't that the greatest Swap package ever!!! Thank you, Stacey for your most thoughtful and generous gifts. Fantastic Swap!!!!

great swap package. I love the sock yarn and the tea mug too.

That's a very nice looking May Day sock. I know what you mean about the pressure! For myself, I'd say, eh... it's okay. But for someone else??? Eeek!
