Picnic Time!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yesterday, after shopping all day with Alicia, John and Maggie, I came home and found a package waiting for me. Upon closer examination, I found that it was from Salt Lake City, UT where the very talented knitter and blog friend, Margene, lives. Margene set me up for a picnic extravaganzy that took me from one end of Utah to the other. "Little" John (with much enthusiasm) and I began unwrapping only to find a wonderful clear project bag loaded to the brim with goodies all wrapped up.
Here we have the bag and it's contents after John's help. I could never get it all back in the way Margene so carefully had it arranged:
What were the contents you ask?
Yummy goodies consisting of Wild Huckleberry Honey from Ruby's Inn in Bryce, UT to go with Wild Huckleberry Muffin Mix from the Utah Shakespearean Festival in, was it Cedar City, UT, Margene? Then there was Real Salt from Redmond, Ut, Chocolate Rocks from Ruby's General Store in Bryce and chocolate covered sunflower seeds (I've never seen these before, but oh are they good!)
"Little" John's favorites were the "ocks" and sunflower seeds, which his grandfather hands out to him every time he passes the breakfast room table where they are easily accessible. Alicia said she hoped he didn't think the "ocks" at home were edible---guess we'll find out. ;)
There were also two blue Coleman enamel plates with matching blue utensils and napkins and some Sweet Marigold Pioneer Soap made in Tropic, UT (which had the whole box smelling so yummy) and some Honey Lip Balm also made by Pioneer Soap Co.
There was another clear project bag that is just the right size for everything needed for making a pair of socks and inside the bag was a skein of Superwash Sock yarn by Seacoast Handpainted Yarns in the color, "Blue Spruce"---for all those beautiful spruce trees in Utah. There was also a water thermos filled with two skeins of Gypsy Girl Creations--Painted Desert. The colors of this yarn are so rich in rust, gold, a little blue---just gorgeous! Margene also included a Fiber Trends sock pattern called Lupine Lace Socks. Can't wait to try this one. It will definitely be my next sock project.
Here is the water thermos that the sock yarn was in. Isn't it cute, and the saying "Life is good!!! is oh so true!!!!!
To top it all off, Margene included this beautiful note card which is a photograph of some wildflowers in the Albion Basin near Salt Lake City. This would be the perfect place for a perfect picnic.
Thank you, Margene, for a fantastic "Picnic" swap. You outdid yourself!!!!! Also, thank you, Lynne for another wonderful swap. I don't know where all those wonderful ideas come from, but we're having so much fun!!!!! Keep 'um coming!!!!!

It was fun to gather all things 'Utah' for you. We were lucky to be able to travel around Utah in July and I picked up a few things along the way. I very much enjoyed this swap all around. Thanks so much Elizabeth and Lynne!!
